Santaco Airlines is born in South Africa

President Jacob Zuma attends the SANTACO Airlines proof of concept event, originally uploaded by The Presidency of the Republic of South Africa.

Santaco Airlines (Lanseria) is a new black-owned airline in South Africa. Introduced on September 16, 2011, the airline is owned by South African National Taxi Council (Santaco). President Jacob Zuma of the Republic of South Africa attended the unveiling.

Star AirCargo started operating this Boeing 737-219 ZS-SSZ (msn 23470) on October 14, 2011.

The upstart wants to fly from Lanseria (near Johannesburg) to Bhisho and Cape Town.
