Thai Airways International receives approval to acquire 37 aircraft

Thai Airways International (Bangkok) board of directors on June 10 approved the acquisition for six additional Boeing 777-300 ERs for delivery in the 2014-2015 period. Thai also received permission to place orders for four Airbus A350-900s for delivery during the 2016-2017 period and five Airbus A320-200s for delivery in 2014-2015.

Thai will also lease eight Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) for 12 years for delivery in the 2014-2017 period. In addition, six Airbus A350-900s will be leased from Aviation Lease and ILFC, two Airbus A350-900s from CIT Aerospace International and six Airbus A320-200 from RBS Aerospace.
