Continental to increase Newark-London flights

January 30, 2010 —

Continental Airlines (Houston) announced yesterday that it will increase its schedule of flights between its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and London (Heathrow) during 2010. The airline will add a fourth daily service to the route in March and a fifth daily service in October, bringing the total number of Continental daily departures to Heathrow to seven, including its twice-daily service from Houston (Bush Intercontinental).

In addition, Continental announced that effective June 1, 2010 all aircraft scheduled for Heathrow flights will feature new, flat bed seats in BusinessFirst.

In other news, Continental Airlines’ flight CO 881 yesterday operating from the Newark hub to Bogota diverted to Jacksonville due to a passenger with a similar name on the No Fly List. The Boeing 737 landed without incident at JAX at approximately 5:45 p.m. (1745) local time. The passenger was cleared and the flight proceeded without further incident to BOG.
